What to Expect!

First Session 

This session typically takes anywhere from 1-3 hours as this is when we introduce ourselves to the Youth and get a look into what they are studying, their goals and when the best time for tutoring is. We also break down issues and find out where the problems lie. After all this, we get to work!

Introductions

This should take no more than 30 minutes, however we do ask a lot of questions in this time in order to create and idea of the best approach to the situation and where we can help. I can’t stress enough on how valuable this time is for the Youth and discovering the best way to help them succeed.

Course of action

Next we find out where the problem lies in their understanding. For some, it may just be they missed out on a key moment of instruction due to a move, for others, the concept may just be so foreign, we need to start at the basics. 

Setting up!

We use so many amazing platforms for education, however not all are free and available at low costs. So due to this we use 3 main sites/apps: Duolingo, Quizlet, and Khan Academy. If your Youth already has accounts with these platforms, Awesome! If not, we create the accounts they need in order to keep up and help them with whatever they need.

Planning Ahead

We all know that homework is never fun, but we try to break it down for our Youth in a way they can understand and remember for next time.

Math+ means….

While Math is the bane of every teenagers existence, we are aware that Math is not always the problem. We have taken steps to include nearly every subject in our attempt to help Youth succeed.
